Woke early, around 7. Was very damp, cloud everywhere.
Rode out around 8.30. Stopped in Cambria, the first town, for WiFi and to send postcards.
Rode out about 10. It had been cold, around 10C when I started, but rapidly warmed as I climbed the hill. It is one continuous, long, climb, out of San Simeon, of around 400m, to the summit peak. Then mainly rolling hills, as the remainder is up on a plateau.
Camelbak sprang a leak. Not sure if it can be repaired, contents of pannier had to be spread around and dried on the ground,
Rode through wine country. It was HOT. Like 37C hot. Shorts and top covered in salt.
Arrived just after 1. Called a couple of RV parks; one said $56/night, the other said campers not welcome. So found a local motel. Simply furnished, but great location.
Went out, for lunch. Came back after 3* wine tastings, 1* pint, and a small light lunch, feeling rather drunken. Made myself dinner, wrote this, fell asleep.
